About Black Oak Coffee Kenya Karani

It’s hard to top Kenyan coffees. They represent what is possible in coffee production with dynamic fruited clarity and gorgeous structured acidity. We could go on and on about how much we treasure the amazing beverages you can brew from this region, lets just say that they are worth the extra money that we spend for the green coffee and you spend for the roasted stuff. Karani washing station represents 600 small farmers. "Karani" is the Kikuyu (a large ethnic tribal group in central Kenya) name of the orignal owners of the farm where the washing station was built. The farmers contributing to, and the workers processing this coffee meticulously hand select the ripe cherries and fully wash the coffee with water from the Ragati River.

A cup of coffee is practically a religious experience for us. We revere it, we crave it and we anticipate brewing and drinking it every day. Every coffee has a story, a history of soil, people and culture that make each one special. And it’s that combination that keeps us curious to learn about and eager to experience the next cup.
